Coconut Ladoo with Condensed Milk

Have you started your Diwali celebrations???? I did and this is my first I am posting this month. In future posts, I will try to post more of such simple yet delicious recipes for you guys.

The recipe I am sharing today is instant and can be made in 2 minutes. These coconut ladoos are made with minimum ingredients (just 3 ingredients) and you don't need any gas, stove, microwave or oven. The only 3 ingredients need are desiccated coconut, condensed milk can and elaichi powder. Here I am using elaichi powder only for flavoring if you wish you can skip it.

Traditionally coconut ladoos are made by mixing milk, coconut ad sugar. They are cooked on very low flame for quiet a long time. This is a time consuming process. So with this recipe, I am simply trying to reduce the overall fuss. With the usage of condensed milk which is already reduced milk, you don't need any cooking. Also the amount of sugar in condensed milk controlled so you don't need to worry about it.

The consistency of the Coconut Ladoo is like fudge- it’s soft, chewy and melts in your mouth.

What is Condensed Milk?

It is rich, thick, creamy and sweet. Condensed milk is made by evaporating the milk and reducing it by a lot of amounts. At the end in the reduced milk sugar is added. Hence it is known as sweetened condensed milk.

Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups (200 g) desiccated coconut powder

  2. 1/2 can (200 g) milkmaid (condensed milk)

  3. 1/2 tsp elaichi powder

Recipe:

  1. In a bowl add desiccated coconut, milkmaid and elaichi powder.

  2. Now with your clean hands mix everything well and make approx 12-15 regular sized ladoos.

You can definitely eat fresh as it is or can put them in fridge for 10-30 min. This way they will harden just a bit and you will have a great texture of ladoos.

Happy Baking!!!!!
