Updated: Aug 19, 2019

Getting involved with family and friends is pleasant for our joyful weekend. This weekend I went to have fun with my friends and family at someplace and ordered some yummy food and drinks, I tried one of their specialty pizza puff tarts and all ingredients melted in my mouth.

Great & easy Pizza Tarts, I was so excited to try it at home so that I can make my family happy with same or better taste tarts. The next day I baked them at home and you know what, the result was awesome. I don’t only want to share it with my family but all so that you can try it at home and make your loved ones happy too. It is made with ready-rolled puff pastry which is quick and versatile and a sure hit. You can serve warm with toppings of your choice.

I bought Puff Pastry from the market; it’s available with ‘Modern Bazar’ in Gurgaon. Homemade pizza sauce or market brought sauce can also be used. Cheese is completely your option that can be Mozzarella, pizza, cheddar and a bit of Parmesan. You’re never really going to go wrong with those ingredients. When they came out of the oven with the cheese all bubbling and gluey, I couldn’t stop myself taking a bite and second thought came to my mind was of taking the pictures. They are bite treats and would look like perfect slices of pizza or say the cutest pizza tarts.

Ingredients:

  1. Store bought 400 gm puff pastry(I am using an 10*10 inch pan. If you have a bigger sized pan increase the size accordingly)

  2. 1 egg for wash(If you don't eat egg using 1 tbsp mil+1 tbsp butter mix)

For the pasta sauce:

  1. 3-4 tomatoes

  2. 1 onion

  3. 6-8 garlic cloves

  4. 1 tsp oregano

  5. 1 tsp red chilli powder

  6. 2 tbsp ketchup powder

  7. 1 tsp sugar

  8. 2-3 tbsp olive oil

  9. Salt as needed

Cheese:

  1. As needed(optional). I am using go pizza cheese. You can use mozzarella also.

Topping:

  1. 1/2 cup capsicum(green, red and yellow) or any of your choice

  2. 4-5 Black olives

  3. 1/2 onion sliced

  4. 1 tomato sliced

  5. Greens leaves(I am using basil and rosemerry here)

Method:

For sauce:

  1. Boil tomatoes, onion and garlic in a cooker until 2 whistles comes. After it has been cooled down blend the mixture in a jar.

  2. In a pan add oil. After it gets hot add the tomatoes paste. Stir well.

  3. Now add oregano, chilli powder, ketchup, sugar and salt. Let it cook for 10-15 min on a slow flame.

For Pizza Tart:

  1. Lay down the pastry dough on a platform and roll it out 2 inch thickness as per your pizza plate size(I used square pan here. You can do round also).

  2. Lay down the pastry sheet in the pan. Spread 3-4 tbsp of pizza sauce.

  3. Add toppings of your choice. Spread your cheese. Again add some more toppings.

  4. Wash the sides of the pizza using egg or milk mix. This helps in turning the sides brown.

  5. Bake it at 200C for in a pre heated oven for 20 min or until you start seeing crispy and brown edges.

Serve hot with some more oregano and chilli flakes. Do share and comment if you like the recipe. You can also ask me any query in the comments.
