Want to eat pizza but don't have an oven. No worries!!! Here is my version of stovetop no-bake pizza. It's super delicious and so easy to make. Just grab a flat surface Tawa and you are done.
Over the years I have baked only in the oven and my microwave convention mode. But I found this stovetop baking so indulgent and yes its really helpful for those who don't own an oven. It's a very simple technique what you need to understand is the cooking time and nothing else.
The pizza-base recipe I am sharing today is just 3 ingredient and the simplest possible recipe you will ever see. Benefits of this pizza-base recipe:
This recipe doesn't call for any yeast
It's a no-knead recipe
It's an instant pizza dough
You can cook the pizza base in advance and make pizza later
You don't need any special pan or dish to make this pizza. This recipe can be put together all by hands. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and make this dough. Let it rest for 10 min and your pizza dough is ready. What I love about this cooking method is I can cook my pizza bases in advance. When needed take a base apply some sauce with veggies and cheese. And your instant pizza is ready.
200 g all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
120 g water (approx)
1 tbsp olive oil
Veggies for topping
Combine all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt. Now add some water and make a soft dough. Then add olive oil and combine everything. Let the dough rest for 10-15 min.
Divide the dough into 2 equal parts and roll them into a thin round roti. Prik this using a fork. This will ensure the base cooks from inside properly.
Heat a Tawa over your stove. Apply a tsp of oil and place pizza base over it. Cover with a lid. Let it cook for 5-8 min and then flip it. Cover with a lid again and cook for 5 more min.
Use either store-bought or homemade pizza sauce. Apply 2-3 tbsp of sauce over the pizza base. Then add your choice of topping(Here I am using onion, tomato, capsicum and some corn). Then add mozzarella sauce.
Apply 1 tsp of oil on the Tawa and place your pizza onto it. Cover with a lid. Let it cook for 10 min
